Affinity Spaces & Regional Groups

Affinity & Regional Groups are member-driven spaces created to deepen relationships, build trust, and strengthen our movement. These groups exist because you—the members of the EC LOC Collaborative—voiced the need for spaces that reflect your unique experiences, identities, and communities.

  • Affinity Meetups

Spaces where members gather around a shared identity—such as race, gender, or cultural experience—to reflect, heal, and support one another.

    Regional Meetups

Bring together members based on geographic location, making it easier to connect, collaborate, and organize within your local community.

    Regional Affinity Meetups

A powerful blend of both—shared identity within a specific place-based context—allowing for deeply rooted connections.

  • These spaces are co-created and self-determined. Each group is organized by members, with full support from the Collaborative, including:

    • Shared Leadership Compensation: Members who help coordinate gatherings—whether planning events, facilitating meetups, or managing logistics—are compensated for their time and leadership. Leadership can rotate based on interest, capacity, and availability within each group.

    • Collaborative Support: Costs for gatherings are fully covered by the Collaborative.

    • Voluntary Participation: You join when it resonates—no obligations, just opportunities for connection.

  • In a field that too often isolates and extracts from leaders of color, these groups offer something radically different: self-determined, trust-filled, action-oriented space. We use 4 C’s to remind us that collaboration isn’t one-size-fits-all—it grows from relationships, and reflects the unique purpose of each group.

Wherever you are in your leadership journey, your presence matters. Start with intentional connection. The rest will follow.
